This audiobook was such a wake-up call for me. My husband has ADHD and so does our daughter. It’s been overwhelming trying to support both of them while also holding everything together. This didn’t just explain the science or give generic advice. It actually helped me understand what’s really going on with them emotionally, mentally, and physically. The parts on emotional regulation, nutrition, sleep, and even how ADHD shows up at work or in social settings really spoke to what we deal with daily. I had my husband listen to some chapters too so we could talk through changes together. It helped both of us see our daughter in a different light and gave us ways to support her without constantly feeling like we’re walking on eggshells. This felt made for families like ours.

This book was so helpful. I've listened to self-care books before, but I've never read one that is specifically for people with ADHD. It was so eye-opening! There are some things I've been trying that weren't working. But listening to this book showed me that even though that may work for other people, it's going against the way my brain works. So, it's like I'm working against myself. No wonder some other "calming" practices were stressing me out.

Work with your unique brain rather than against it
