Boy oh boy, Cooper Spade is one spicy man. “The Rebel” is a steamy, heartfelt and banter filled enemies to lovers romance that just checked all the boxes.

Cooper Spade is in Canada looking for the next Spade property. When a sudden snowstorm comes in, he’s stranded until it clears out. At the bar, he meets a woman who instantly catches his eye. Rowan Cole is in town for her family’s business and she’s instantly attracted to Cooper as well. The two spend an incredible and steamy weekend together. After the snow clears, both go back to their lives. And neither were expecting to meet each other again, especially when they find out their family businesses are combining.

Wow, this story started off steamy and never let up on the steam factor. Cooper wasn’t afraid to tell it how it was and he lived to please Rowan in all the best possible ways. He was never selfish and always tended to her first. Cooper is also extremely career driven and wanted to make sure Spade Hotels was the best out there. Rowan was so sweet from the beginning and I loved her from the start. She didn’t start with her family’s company right away and I admired how she went out on her own to succeed first. I loved these two together in their first meeting in Canada and it only grew when their families combined their businesses. The tension between the families had me non stop listening as they worked through what issues they had. And Cooper and Rowan’s relationship was the bridge they needed to bring everyone together. The last chapters were amazing and the epilogue had me in happy tears for them.

CJ Bloom and JF Harding were amazing as Rowan and Cooper. CJ did an amazing job bringing the compassionate and caring Rowan to life. I loved how she portrayed her as the strong woman that she is. JF’s narration as Cooper was growly and delightfully dirty perfection. He was the perfect choice for Copper and I’m always happy listening to him narrate a book.

Steamy and heartfelt

The Rebel is the second book in the Spade Hotel series. This was my first by Marni Mann, and I was not disappointed.

While Cooper is on a business trip, he meets Rowan at a hotel bar. They are immediately drawn to each other, and things escalate quickly. A snowstorm hits, flights are canceled, and no rooms are available at the hotel. They end up staying together in Rowan's room...for three nights. Once the airport opens back up and they head back to LA, Cooper wants to see Rowan again. Although she had an amazing time with him, Rowan has a secret that could ruin everything. Cooper was not just some random man she met at the bar. Rowan knows precisely who he is.

I enjoyed this story from start to finish. I loved Rowan and Cooper together. Their chemistry was SIZZLING. Marni Mann certainly knows how to write amazing spice! Rowan is a boss! She is strong and confident. Cooper is a swoon-worthy cinnamon roll guy with a tough exterior. The Rebel is a rollercoaster of emotions as Rowan and Cooper go from strangers to lovers to enemies to lovers again. Their relationship has ups and downs, but ultimately, they get their happy ending. I can't wait to read the rest of the books in this series.

AUDIOBOOK:
The narrators did an excellent job and really brought the characters to life. J. F. Harding and C.J. Bloom pulled me into Cooper and Rowan's world. I have not listened to them perform before, but based on their performance with this story, I've added them to my list of favorites. Their narration definitely enhanced my listening experience.

Cooper and Rowan ❤️

I really enjoyed The Playboy which was the first book in this series, but I liked this one even more.
This starts out as a one weekend stand when strangers Rowan and Cooper are snowed in together. Then all kinds of surprises happen afterward. It has all of the steam and dirty talk that you would expect from a Marni Mann story but it honestly had me tearing up at the end. It's a story about family, loyalty, forgiveness and burying old grudges. The narration was great and brought this story to life.

Really enjoying this series
