He's searched the entire realm for the ultimate treasure... her.

Varya lives in the shadows. As a tomb raider, it's easier that way. Known for obtaining the unobtainable, she risks life and limb to provide for her small desert town: a magical chalice with never-ending water, an amulet that heals, a map that shows where all the other magical objects are.

However, the last stolen treasure came with a problem—the Demon King, Greed.

When she finds herself saddled with an injured demon, tracked by a horde of warriors, and effectively lost in the desert, well, what's a girl to do? Dump him at his castle with a broken tail, three shattered ribs, and an obsession that she fears might make him hunt her for the rest of her life.

Greed has always satisfied himself with owning the best anyone can find. Rare horses, gemstones, magical objects that are one of a kind—he always has the best.

Until her—the thief who continues to elude him. Varya doesn't realize he's the cat and she's the mouse. He'll track her. Play her game. Let her think she's winning, and then he will own her mind, body, and soul.

Unfortunately, his little thief has other plans.

Another really good book! I loved reading about Greed’s story and how he learns to love. Also I loved hearing about Greed’s kinks, and how they progress throughout the story.

Summary bit
Greed the demon is happy with he’s life. All is well. He has everything he wants. Until he visits his brother and realizes maybe there’s more. One day he gets attacked by a group of raiders and a thief saves him. She does not want to stay but she does not have it in her to leave them behind. They wait out in the cave system and get to know each other more. After she ditches him at he’s castle. He’s out to hunt her down. They play cat and mouse and both enjoy it. But someone gets the feels. The other is in denial. People dying and impossible is become possible.

My review
So the base of the story was good. Demon King greed finds a thief that he likes and seems to be the most connectable woman he can find. They both like to steal for their own needs. The only difference is she’s like Robin Hood and steals for her people. She except the situation. and he…. Does not see the obvious in front of them.
Main characters was ok. She was spicy and wild gal. Makes dumb choices at times. But sweet underneath.
He was not my favorite. I just could not connect with this character. He became irritating so much, and I found myself skipping forward during his mind rants. How can he be a demon, King and come off so weak. How can you be the soul greed and have a kingdom that suffers for poorness. Like he had to have something pointed out multiple times for him to get the point. He should’ve been the blonde and she should’ve been the redhead. She was wild and unpredictable while he was oblivious and easy.
Steamy bits in book with an ok romance story. Adventurous storyline, but not many surprises to me. I could personally guess everything that was gonna happen but I read too many dang books so that’s not saying much. Storyline was pretty good to match the spirit greed.

Narration was all right also, nothing bad and no complaints about that

What I recommend this book?
Yes I assume many would love this book. I got into it at times and liked it. But my personal preference is that dislike for greed. Again not horrible but not my favorite. I could not get into the book at times.
I still believe the series is pretty good and I do plan on going for book number three because I’m really interested on hearing about gluttony

Mmmmm….. not bad but not as good as first.

the story was decent but I'd probably enjoy it even more if it weren't for the awful narration. neither narrator suited this book. Male narrator you could atleast get passed but the female was just plain horrible. she sounded like an ai and it was super off-putting.

decent story -awful narration
