The village of Meryton has been taken over by the militia. First the officers demanded money to “keep the citizens safe”. Then the females of the area begin to disappear. This leads to Elizabeth being taken by the officers. Unlike the other females, Elizabeth is not taken to be sold to men in other countries, she has caught the eye of the man in charge of the criminal activities. In her escape, she meets the Darcy siblings. Will they be able to aid Meryton and the community surrounding it? Who is the man behind the criminal activity?

Meryton Unites

This vagary was very enjoyable due to the author's ability to depict the love and support of a community under siege by a corrupted militia. Virtual Voice selection was well matched to the story, especially at 1.15x speed.

Thrilling!

I loved this author’s spin on happenings in Meryton and its surrounds.
Mr Bennet uses his influence to save his neighbors from the wicked militia men that have kidnapped several local ladies.
Trigger warning: there are themes of starvation, suicide and rape. These are not graphically described, but central to the plot.
Lots of surprises in the end and everyone gets the ending they deserve.

Exciting

Really great book. Very exciting. I believe it would have been five stars if it had been performed by a talented "real" person. Virtual voice simply did not let the story shine as it should. I loved all the characters and hearing the people of Meryton joining together to fight the bad guys of the militia was quite satisfying and the final charge was extremely exciting..
