This book relays several instances of the most terrifying of all monsters known to lurk in the dark and snap up the innocent. This book challenges our perceptions of good and evil!

The author, Chad Robert Morgan, weaves several stories about creatures/spirits lurking in the darkness and the different lessons to be learned once their purpose is discovered. Listening to this Multi-Story, Multi-Part Set of tales I wasn't immediately drawn in the first Story wasn't really my thing, however I am so glad I waited through the entire set, It came around in a way that drew me in and left me wondering for what was next, what more was there? The stories stand alone, but together increase in listening value. My favorite story of the three main stories was the middle one, which drew on notes of Stephen King meets Dean Koontz, the sinister shadow man, isn't what it is thought he is. In Almost Home A Family on a never ending road trip just miles from home weary experiencing a form of Deja Vu, as as bits begin to unfold you feel the repetitious weariness of the nature of a drive and a rest stop on reeat before the plot works its self slowly out, I felt the annoyance, the worry of the what if they never get off the highway, Family, Brought a new level to the 3 stories, a funeral, a long missing daughter appears with a daughter, the exchange betweeen an average sister and brother, clearly written with a basis of love between them of longing and missing being able to be a family, then the mystery she uncovers in her father's attic, which changes everything and nothing, Her brother reasons and dismisses her cause for fleeing the family, then the attic reveals the most important pieces, This particular story wound around in an almost average crime hiding story at first, someone leaving the family and disappearing for years, for safety, but not from what one would suspect, then it wraps itself folding and unfolding into something Supernatural. The Epilogue answers everything, and therefore I would look at it as the most complete story, that ties the main three together. DO not miss reading about NIck in the Epilogue, you won't get the full circle until you do. Allot of emotions, and things to feel, creepy on the fact you could see something like this happening,
