So much has changed … Not too long ago, Joanne Riley was a spoiled Barbie, nothing but a nuisance to her brother and his friends. Now, she has a job and is a whole new better person, and she can’t wait to show up at her high school reunion to show her friends how much she has changed. Except she may not get the chance. Days before the reunion, pieces of her newly built life start to fall apart. Joanne’s friends are going missing one by one … And Joanne could be next. Lucas McGowan, an obese boy who was the target of high school bullies, is now a superhero in Hollywood’s hottest franchise. He is determined to make everyone at the reunion regret how they treated him in high school. His number one target—Joanne Riley. Unresolved high school mystery collides with family drama and new mystery in the fifth book of the Ghost of the Past series. Will Joanne Riley get a happy ending of her own? The story was okay, but there are dozens, maybe hundreds of instances in which the narrator misinterprets the way a line should be delivered. It’s not just bad pronunciation—there are some of those two—but more like lines that are supposed to be sarcastic that are pronounced with sincerity, or using the word god as profanity when it’s supposed to be prayer. It’s just jarring to have to keep mentally correcting what’s being said.
That happens with a human narrator sometimes too, but not nearly as badly as this. This technology is amazing, but it’s just not there yet.

Narrator kind of ruins it

This story would have been way better with a real person reading it the ai was hard to listen to.

Ai voice narration is TRASH

Unfortunately, I think the Story got lost in the poor AI narration. I was frequently distracted by the misplaced inflection and mispronunciation of words.

I miss human narration!

Very disjointed story line.
Virtual voice is very flat and words pronounced wrong. It’s like listening to a teacher giving a boring lecture

Disappointing storyline

The story was probably much better than rated but virtual voice misses SO much of the story by not adding fluctuation appropriately, ignoring punctuation etc…. It’s so much better to have an actual reader!

Hate virtual voice!
