My purpose is to help alcoholics as well as those who love them. Since only 5 percent of those who pick up a white chip at an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting remain permanently sober—that’s just one in twenty—I know how badly the deck is stacked against you. More than anything, I want to help you succeed. I want to help you be a winner, not a loser. I want to help you experience a full life, not one that has been cut short by alcoholism. I believe Thirty Years Sober will help. Although it’s my story, it’s comparable to yours. All recovery stories have similarities. That’s why we tell them at meetings. It’s why I wrote the book. Thirty Years Sober will provide you with encouragement, answers and hope, not just for alcoholics but for Alanons as well.
