Four months into his research, his body is found in a remote part of the LaSal Mountains, a small caliber bullet lodged in his brain. Were there activities going on at the ranch that Rusty would have been better off not digging into? Or was his murder related to something else altogether? Deputy Sheriff Manny Rivera is assigned the case and sets out to learn the motive for the killing, and through that, identify the perpetrator.

Compelling story!

Storyline. Dialogue was great. Type of story where you know what the main character us thinking and planning where the author is not trying to trick you with cheap surlrises.

Good story, needs to be read by a real person.

The story was good enough to keep me listening in spite of the awful reading done by the computer.

AI narration ruined a possible good story

So...storyline was interesting, I liked the historical aspects to the story, but the droning narration makes this book great to use as a sleep aid. I started over twice thinking that perhaps I was too tired to give the book a fair chance, but I could not enjoy the story because the narration was so poor. I still gave it a sum total of three stars because I think it would be a good book with better narration.
