Mediocre stories, but the virtual voice narration makes it almost unbearable.... Leaving out words, using the wrong words, mispronouncing words, and weird emphasis and pacing. For instance, one character is a doctor. The narrator constantly says: "Dee Are (long pause like it's the end of a sentence) Fax" (instead of Dr. Fax) but then says" IV" like it's a word rather than initials. It's so distracting, it made so-so stories worse than they had to be. The worst virtual voice narration i have heard.

The virtual voice is the worst

The robotic reader is a cool idea, but it didn’t do the stories any favors. There were a lot of mispronunciations and changes in emphasis of words that made listening hard in some cases.

The author sounds like he is an avid Science Fiction fan. I got the references he made to classic science fiction and loved it.

I am a scientist. While I can suspend disbelief with the best of them, there were some places where having a science reader go over the book before publication would’ve been a big help. The best science fiction is rooted in science.

The story ideas were cool. The author is a good story-teller.

Seems like a silly mistake to make when the lead character of two of the three stories was male to use a female voice for all three.
