Interesting story either way lots of history

The mystery starts with an ancient historical story that provides the key to the story. Pretty good villain and challenge for Holmes. Good performance.

Something different.

Interesting story(through it takes some time to proper start), with neat twist at the conclusion. There are references to past stories and one character from author earlier pastiche makes a return.

Narration it's good although consistent rising and lowing voices might distract.

Excellent story

A blend of history and mystery, Count Drogos, a master criminal, is trying to obtain the “universal antidote” against poisons created by an ancient ruler. Holmes, Watson and Inspector Lestrade work together to keep Count Drogos from getting the formula for the antidote and save his prisoner. The book is woven through with pieces of the original ACD books and this pastiche fits nicely in the canon. The narration is excellent and brings the characters and story to life. I received a free audiobook code for my honest review.

A fun romp with Holmes and Watson

The premise of the story was good. There were a few mini-adventures that wove together into the main narrative. It felt reasonably Holmesian, and i enjoyed it.

A few dings, some of which belong on the author, some on the narrator. There were places where the author, presumably in an attempt at erudition, used words that did not mean what he thought they meant. And cases where the narrator mispronounced the words the author used correctly.

But the reason I dinged the narrator was his vocal characterizations. Specifically, it was too difficult to distinguish Holmes and Watson.

Barring that, it was a fun listen, and worth your time.
