I love the subtle way the lore is introduced. It's understandable and also memorable. ... The MMC is authentic and so lovable and the FMC is relatable in a wat that will have you cheering her on. Definitely my favorite in the series thus far! Plus this man has a cape and it's sexy as hell!

Seasonal Rom-Com

This book was a cute read for the Halloween through Christmas season. Two magical individuals, Gus and Serena, play an October do over game where both end up growing in life and love. Serena is a career driven workaholic and kitchen witch. Gus is an ex “jerk” (self proclaimed) magician, but currently a sweet and nerdy man working at a historical society. Gus is very patient and understanding with Serena, who continuously pushes him aside in terms of a relationship, simply focusing on the sexual aspects of the affair. I like Gus’ character but wish Serena had been more receptive to romance. Eventually, she starts to give in to the possibility of an actual relationship, but not till the very of the story. Overall, it was a decent fall rom com, but nothing that is really going to leave a lasting memory.
