But there were people willing to pay cold, hard cash for a man who could be anyone and then disappear once the job was done.

I've known the book for years, of course, and the stories are poetic and powerful. RZ weaves concepts, characters and plots seamlessly. I catch something new every time I reread it, which is the mark of a true classic. This narration is splendid, with flawless inflection. I immediately had to listen to it again.
