The second volume, The World at War takes place between the opening of the second and third seals described in the The Book of Revelation. Iran (the Persian Ram) has conquered the Middle East and the world is in a state of war not seen since World War II. Soon the antichrist will rise to rule the world, for a short time. Ford discovers more connections between the Books of Daniel, Ezekiel, Revelation, and more. Samantha experiences heart breaking loss and tragedy. Biblical references

A lot of biblical references that I find very interesting. The events in revelation have a believable explanation. However no mention of rapture or being saved, which is a big part of true believers doctrine. I do like the books, I have listened to the first two books and will continue on with the series. I take it all with a grain of salt and view it as entertainment not spiritual.

Good story line

If you enjoy this genre, you'll enjoy this series. However, the AI narration leaves a lot to be desired. It's not horrible and its tolerable but the lack of pitch and intonation makes it difficult to know which character is speaking.

Tone & Prose

AI reader is pretty awful. Monotone, with no affect or inflection, and I miss the unique voices of each character that most human readers create. The voice is choppy, with weird pauses and flow. For example, “ Zach. Zach set out…” the needless repetition disrupts listening. 🧐*In my opinion, AI isn’t worth saving the money for a human reader. AI “performs” artificially and lacks humane intelligence and emotion. Huh, imagine that Artificial Intelligence lacks emotion. 🤦‍♀️

In defense of AI Robot Reader, the author’s writing is repetitive. Very often, you hear the same information. Sometimes, the same information is delivered so repetitively that it sounds like the same sentence is being reread. Imagine a flat, monotone pace AI reader who then has to read the same information in another way — — —Yea, you get it now. These incidents occur about four times in the book. An avid reader/listener, it distracts from the actual story. 🧐*Edits/editor needed. I’m shocked the AI program didn’t recommend edits.

The actual story isn’t bad. The religious aspects are explained in enough detail to make the language friendly for all. The storyline is geared toward, what I am calling “religious-coaching.” As a believer in Jesus I felt the storyline was interrupted with the overtone that everyone must be saved.

Believable fiction

Very interesting story. Great imagination. Takes a little getting used to the virtual voice. It was OK, but I would’ve preferred to hear a real person reading..
