What are the details of the Christmas story?

Have you thought about the background story?

Mary finds out she is going to give birth to the savior of the world. Joseph finds out after that his soon to be wife is pregnant, but she never was unfaithful to him. When it’s close to the time for Jesus birth, the couple has to travel to Bethlehem to be taxed by the government. Then they have to flee to another country because their baby may be killed by soldiers.

The details around giving birth to the savior were very stressful.

This was an extremely stressful time in their lives, without a doubt. They were both committed to doing what they needed to do because they believed God had a plan for their lives.

The book was very interesting showing the biblical origin of many Christmas traditions. The book shows how some seeming secular activities of Christmas have biblical origin. It also adds to the biblical stories, giving insight and adding to the sacredness of the Christmas season.
The virtual narration was very good, it sounded very natural.

I liked all the little details the author placed throughout the book on the first Christmas that I had never heard before. For example: we all long to be home for Christmas, but this family was far from home!

I never thought about this on the first Christmas!
