It took exactly twenty-four hours for Atlanta publicist Emma Walters’s life to go from near-perfect to a monumental disaster. One day to break up with her boyfriend, get fired and inherit a farm. Emma soon discovers that the farm isn’t exactly what it seems. It doesn’t sell anything, making her wonder if it's just a glorified petting zoo or if Dan is hiding something much bigger. With suspiciously named shops like Four and Twenty Blackbirds lining Main Street, it’s clear that the whole town might be in on a secret.

But when the farm—and the livelihood of the townsfolk—is threatened, Emma must come up with a plan to save it. Because when you farm around, it’s just a matter of time before everyone finds out.

Kind of slow

The main female character was a little annoying and whiny. This was just ok for me. Narrator was great.

The plot

I appreciate how the book flowed with surprises directing the plot. I appreciate how the main character grew and developed. All of the characters had a back story which made the book believable.

Simply delightful

Emma and Dan had the craziest meet-cute. She was changing her dress in what she thought was the ladies room but was actually the men's room. Turns out Dan is the caretaker of the farm she just inherited from her grandparents.
After her life fell apart, she came back to the farm to stay. She wanted to learn about her grandparents and to escape her problems. She ended up discovering the town secret while simultaneously falling for Dan.
Emma fumbles through things, thinking she can fix every problem that arises. It takes her a while to realize she needs to ask for help.
This was such a delightful story. The pacing of the love story was perfect. Emma and Dan were fabulous characters. I loved the way the story ended.

The narrator made this book come to life! Excellent story and read/acted perfectly!! Thoroughly enjoyed this one

Favorite narrator!!!

I really enjoyed this book. I felt the characters were really developed and even the side characters . I really enjoyed listening to this book because this is my favorite narrator. I wish I could start this book over for the first time again.
