A swoon-worthy wonderfully narrated historical romance!

I absolutely loved this audiobook! I’m a fan of period pieces in general and these Harlequin Historical Regency romances give us the opportunity to enjoy stories like Pride and Prejudice, but with sapphic characters.

Author Emma Claire-Sunday had me at the foreword. While I won’t share what she wrote, I knew something special was on the way.

There were times when I wished I was following along with the ebook so I could highlight especially wonderful passages. I’ll need to purchase this book in that format to do just that.

The narration by Beatrix Ayliff was outstanding. She beautifully captured Charlotte and Loretta’s growing friendship, attraction and longing, and Loretta’s refreshingly well told awakening. The romance was swoon-worthy and the main characters so likable. I wanted so much for our heroines to get their happily ever after. The secondary characters added much to the storyline as well, and even provided some surprises along the way.

This is one I’ll be listening to again. More please, Emma!

For a first time regency, it was good

It was well written, a little slow and too much detailed, but once I got used to it i thought it fitted the style. I liked Charlotte more than Loretta, Narration was good, and fitted the story.

Great characters and great performance!

I enjoyed Charlotte and Loretta very much! Charlotte’s attitude and confidence is very enjoyable, so was Loretta’s openness and curiosity. They were a joy to read!

Beatrix Ayliff knocked it out of the park with her performance, delivering both distinct voices and believable emotions. Will absolutely be buying any of the Regency novels she narrates from here on.

The story of two women finding love—one uninitiated in sapphic love and one jaded to anything more than a fling—was beautiful. I also especially liked the way the author portrayed feminine beauty and how it was presented in media versus the reality of it. How the feminine form is imperfect, but still enchanting. The HEA felt well-deserved and, honestly, I was bummed to see this author doesn't have more sapphic tales for me to enjoy.
