I really appreciate what this book is trying to do, but ultimately I felt that some of the advice could cause problems as opposed to resolving them.

Pro:
Chapters 1-5 were great, they nailed the definitions and descriptions of narcissistic traits very well.

Cons:
Saying that it’s better for the kids if two people stay together despite the toxicity, I highly disagree with. I really hope I read(listened) to that part incorrectly. That would just be modeling toxic relationship for your children to absorb and repeat.

The section regarding children didn’t have an age specification, and the advice to not tell your child why the separation happened doesn’t sit right with me- depending on the age. I feel it’s important for your child to understand, to a degree, why things are happening so they can better understand that it is truly not their fault.

I stopped listening with 20 minutes left because I had lost trust in the information being shared. Could just be me, that was just my experience.

I like what it’s trying to do
