They’ve stalked Europe’s haunted woods and prowled America’s forgotten roads. Now their blood-soaked legacy is exposed.

Werewolves have howled through our darkest stories for centuries—but what if the legends were true? In this unnerving collection, author Ethan Blackwood hunts down the origins, folklore, and chilling real-world encounters behind the world’s most terrifying shapeshifters.

From ancient European villages to the eerie backroads of rural America, you'll discover:

  • The horrifying roots of werewolf myths across cultures

  • Real-life accounts from survivors who claim they came face-to-face with the beast

  • Historical documents and unexplained deaths linked to lycanthropy

  • The chilling overlap between folklore, madness, and murder

Whether you believe or not, one truth remains: the stories never really died. They just moved deeper into the woods.

I had a hobby for a large part of my life. It was werewolves. I read every book I could find. I saw every film. I collected models, and figures. I even taught myself lucid dreaming so I could change into a werewolf. Took a while but it worked, and it wasn’t as hard as I thought it’d be. The dream? It was spectacular. I had several more dreams and once even had a hypnotist guide me through a werewolf meditation. So I thought I was up on all the werewolf history and folklore, but this book told me otherwise. I knew the historical cases, but this book is full of information I’ve never found anywhere else. Who is this Ethan Blackwood, and how does he know so much about these subjects? Great book about historical factual and more modern incidents with astonishing new details. Absolutely fascinating!

The first chapters provide notes on a few historical werewolf incidents I wasn't aware of and give regional perspectives we don't often hear, such as the werewolf as protector. After that, it devolves into speculative dramatizations of various investigations.

Pseudo-documentary with with a few interesting perspectives
