Fast-paced, razor-sharp, and wickedly clever, The Last Iota is the explosive follow-up to The Big Sheep, a hardboiled sci-fi mystery where the future’s so corrupt, you’ll need a sarcasm filter just to breathe.

Great story, rough virtual narration

The Last Iota is a fun and engaging neo-noir science fiction mystery. The story moves quickly, the characters are entertaining, and the plot held my attention throughout.

Unfortunately, the AI narration needs considerably more quality control. Multiple character names were pronounced in several different ways, and the voice even got a few fairly common words wrong. These errors were distracting and repeatedly pulled me out of the story.

The book itself was strong enough that I still enjoyed the experience overall, but it deserved a competent human narrator or at least a much more carefully reviewed AI production. Four stars for an excellent story held back by rough narration.
