In three weeks in October 2002, John Allen Muhammad (age 41 at the time) and Lee Boyd Malvo (age 17 at the time) traveled in a blue 1990 Chevrolet Caprice sedan killing indiscriminately ten people while wounding others in the Washington Metropolitan area and along I-95 in Virginia. These shootings captivated the United States and the world as the media spent hours covering the aftermath of each killing. Fear gripped the region as the shootings appeared random at any public location from gas stations, parking lots, stores and other places.
On October 24, 2002, the killers were arrested at a rest area at night in Myersville, Maryland near I-70. This would end a nation-wide killing spree that stared in February 2002.
This is the tragic story of the Beltway killers a ruthless duo that showed no mercy, killed indiscriminately and terrorized the nation in 2002.
