“For the Love of Fallsville” is the story of Belle Madison, a girl who was born in a small village in Highland County, Ohio during the early part of the 19th century. She grew up loving the little town, the people in it, and especially the falls. As a grown woman, she had to endure many hardships of the time, such as disease, the dangers of living in a remote area, and the Civil War. Sadly, once the war was over, the town began to slowly fade away, and Belle had to face the truth; the town was dying, and it was time to move on.
The story of Belle and her family is fictional, but the town of Fallsville did exist in Highland County. It is now a ghost town, and you can hike back to the falls and imagine what life might have been like when Fallsville was a thriving community.
