Get ready for a thrilling ride with Silo 42: Deception, the first book in the Silo 42 series!

In a post-apocolyptic world torn apart by war, 50 isolated underground Silos have been built to protect the last remaining humans.

But Silo 42 is different - a society that embraces Native American values and thrives in secrecy. However, their prosperity may be short-lived as Silo 1 becomes suspicious of their success and threatens to expose them. With the fate of his Silo and its inhabitants in his hands, Ahotay Lathrop must navigate a delicate balance to protect his people. But will they be able to maintain their deception and avoid annihilation?

For fans of Hugh Howey's "Wool" series and the Apple+ TV adaptation, Silo 42: Deception is a fast-paced sci-fi thriller that offers thought-provoking solutions for a sustainable future.

If you enjoyed "Wool" by Hugh Howey, you'll love Silo 42: Deception. Both books take place in a dystopian world where survival is a constant struggle. But while "Wool" focuses on the claustrophobic environment of a single Silo, Silo 42 expands to explore the larger consequences and challenges of living in a ruined world. With its gripping plot and relatable characters, Silo 42: Deception is a must-read for fans of the genre.

The AI voice was bad. It missed words. It did not put the correct emphasis on phrases. And there was no inflection to give the story heart.

Story followed the other books well

Overall, I like the story. The part I didn't like was the change in character and events related to Donald Keene. Since this is in the Silo universe, it would have been nice to keep his character the same; but if you separate it from the original Silo stories, it's pretty good.

The adaption of the story

Virtual voice narration hard to take. I’ve heard worse narrations, but this is definitely down there on the bottom. Takes away from the story. Will not recommend the audio version of this one for that reason.
Refreshing take in the series. What is possible when potential isn’t crushed.

Good story- read print version
