In a city plagued by darkness and despair, Erin's destiny takes an unexpected turn when a treacherous hike in the Colorado mountains leads her to the brink of death—and into the arms of a golden-skinned god. Dionysos, the enigmatic deity of wine and madness, bestows upon Erin powers beyond her wildest dreams, igniting a fierce determination to reshape the corrupt metropolis she calls home.

But as Erin learns to navigate her newfound abilities and the intoxicating allure of the gods, she discovers that the man she once danced with in the firelight is none other than Blaine York, the city's iron-fisted governor and her sworn enemy. Despite their opposing roles, an undeniable attraction simmers between them, blurring the lines between love and rivalry.

Erin soon finds herself caught in a web of forbidden desire and conflicting loyalties as she fights alongside Blaine to uplift the city from its daemon-infested depths. With each passing day, the sexual tension between them grows more intense, threatening to consume them both. But Erin can't help but question Blaine's true motives—is his affection genuine, or is she just another pawn in his quest for power?

As an ancient threat emerges from the shadows, Erin must navigate a treacherous landscape where gods, demi-gods, daemons, and mortals collide in a battle for dominance. With the fate of her city and the lives of those she holds dear hanging in the balance, Erin must confront her own darkness and decide where her loyalties truly lie—even if it means sacrificing everything she's fought for.

In Wine and Gods, the second installment of the Caught Between Worlds series, author Candice Bundy weaves a captivating tale of passion, power, and redemption. Prepare to be swept away in a world where the line between love and madness is as thin as a razor's edge, and where the fate of a city rests in the hands of a woman torn between two worlds.

To start I really loved this book but although I enjoyed it, I wasn't really a fan of Erin. Although her intentions are good, her sense of entitlement is off the charts. I found it very frustrating that she just goes around hitting people and feels like she should answer to no one disregarding any authority set in place. I really liked Blaine and I honestly didn't like the transfer of power when Erin's actions were so reckless. The introduction of all of the God-touched and their power was really exciting, especially when the challenges came about. The highlights of the book for me were the return of Meri/Nadir, Azimuth, Orias and Kobol! I loved them so much from the first book and I was so happy to see that they were such a huge part of the continuous story. 💜 Belial is psychopathic so I've been wondering how things would come to a head with him and their cabal and I'm really happy about the outcome. As always Nadir and Azimuth are so beautiful to read. There's no limit to the depths they will go for their love. I look forward to book number 3 to see everyone come together against the Fae and hopefully to see Erin really open her eyes to Dionysos and his hidden agenda of wreaking havoc. All in all, it's definitely worth the read. The imagination of this world, daemon magic and the god touched power was thrilling to read 💜

Love and wine intertwined.
