Baking. It can get a guy killed.

A shadowy master criminal has been kidnapping experts from the food industry and stealing both food and equipment. The crimes are so unrelated no one in the world had noticed the connections.

No one except Albert Smith, that is.

He’s got almost nothing to go on, but with every place he visits, he gets just a little closer to the truth. He’s not working alone though, his faithful sidekick, Rex Harrison the former police dog is right there with him. Can the two of them pull off the impossible and find the man Albert chose to dub ‘the Gastrothief’?

Well, maybe, but it’s not going to be easy. Not least because the nation’s police suspect Albert of the very crimes he wants them to investigate.

On the run, far from home, and almost completely alone, can they turn their darkest hour into their greatest triumph?

Wedding Ceremony Woes

...is really a star in these stories! I like how the author gives the animals “human” characteristics.
The adventures are realistic yet interesting and enticing! Alfred and Rex have adventures that focus on the mystery with enough detail to make me want to try the foods Alfred is searching for. The stories are “clean” with few innuendos related to sexual content. The murders are not given graphic detail but enough description to let ones imagination see the scene.

Rex the retired police dog...

The German Shepherd shares his thoughts on every crime. That makes these books a lovely, light-hearted listen.

What a surprise this collection has been. Not being the genre I usually choose, I was only expecting and hoping for a little something to pass the time. I couldn’t have been more wrong. These stories have been a fun adventure that has been hilarious at times and always interesting. I shall miss Rex Harrison and Albert Smith more than I can say. Would it be too much to ask for another 10 books? The narrator was beyond excellent.

Highly entertaining.
