Unable to control their actions, Anna must learn how to deal with the aftermath of their decision. The reasoning behind their choice to include Lucas in their plans becomes clear to Anna in a frightening and unexpected way.

As Malcolm prepares to rescue Anna and Lucas, he knows one thing for a fact: Once he and his friends enter Helena’s realm, she will fight them every inch of the way. In order to win his family back, Malcolm knows they’ll have to play by her rules. No memory can stay hidden from Helena while they’re inside her domain, and Malcolm knows she will try to weaken him by taking advantage of the guilt he still harbors for past sins. Everyone has a moment in their lives they would rather keep hidden from those they love, but when you’re battling a creature that thrives on guilt and sin, your deepest, darkest secrets can be used as weapons against you.

As the events in Reckoning unfold, secrets are revealed that could either destroy the bonds of friendships forever or make them stronger than they were before. Only one thing remains certain: no one will leave Hell unchanged.
