Virtual voice was awful.

Virtual voice was awful. I couldn’t finish listening to the book. Story was interesting but virtual voice was too distracting.

Love the story, but virtual voice 😖

A cute clean Christmas story from Pepper. While this is the better of the virtual voices, it did take away from the experience especially with some of the regional accent and slang usage.

All that said Pepper’s writing is excellent as always and that made a virtual voice more tolerable. I hope at some point she is able to have a human narrator in which case I will definitely purchase. For now, I’m glad it’s free.

The Virtual Reader Was Extremely Frustrating

We have recently have become enormous fans of Pepper Bashom after finishing two outstanding books. We loved Some Like It Scot and Sense and Suitability. In each of those books, the narrative was outstanding and brought the characters of the books alive. Her writing, her sense of humor, character development and storyline were stellar. Doing this novella was exhausting, as it was very difficult to follow which character was speaking. The inflections were way off base and was just a tremendous distraction from what we had hoped would have been a fun Christmas story. I would love to hear this book done by someone who could actually do the various voices and bring the story alive. The production of this virtual reading needed a tremendous amount of tweaking.

Fun Holiday Story

Fun yet moving. Engaging story from the beginning! I don’t care for virtual voice recordings.
