Sewer monsters. New friends. Incredible Class.

The next chapter in Roth's journey takes him to Hilsford.

After getting his journey off to a good start and becoming friends with the ratans, foxes, badgers, corvids, and boars of the woods, it's time to take his journey to one of the big cities of AstroTerra, Hilsford.

Instead of finding a peaceful city where he can rest, he finds a competitive environment ridden with mobsters and slavers. To make matters worse, Roth's enemies are picking up his scent, and the pressure is on.

Roth's journey continues in book two of Hidden Class: Pacifist, a series featuring a protagonist who overcomes his anger management issues to become the most peaceful man on Earth. Join Roth in a sci-fi fantasy cyberpunk adventure with a unique progression LitRPG system. This wholesome LitRPG story contains no sexual content, profanity, gore, or harem.

The writing on this is not geared towards adults, maybe young teens. It is just bad, in my opinion. I saw another reviewer who described the main character as a preachy, nonviolent vegan. It is very apt. It is a cool idea, but it has poor execution. Also, the author gets into way too much detail in some items that don't really need explanation and then glosses over important items.

Listened to the whole thing unfortunately…

This was a mostly enjoyable listen, similar to the first book. I don't think I will continue with the audio format of this series, however. There is too much repetitive going over of stat changes, lasting minutes. I don't buy audiobooks just to have to fast-forward over sections. If I continue with the series, it will be by ebook.

An Alternative LitRPG Plot

This series is great and I am going definitely going to read the 3rd! It’s a fresh take on LitRPG and is well written

Great 2nd book!

This is a very enjoyable book, but it lacked the emotional impact of the first book because the reader has already been introduced to the struggle Roth has with anger management and the importance he places on not being a person who solves his problems through violence even in a videogame.

Watching Roth work to level up through non-violent means is interesting. He continues to form alliances with nonhuman creatures and struggles to help them make peace with their traditional enemies--all while keeping his own enemy from finding him. He has to deal with the consequences of such issues as eating meat, working with hides, and accidentally causing the death of evil creatures. These are credible problems for a man struggling to be a pacifist to encounter.

Speaking of pacifism, Roth finds his hidden class in this book, positioning him to begin exploring just how much peace he can bring to a videogame world.

Good Sequel
