I. AM. GUTTED.

This review is for the whole of the story. I honestly cannot think of another author in this genre , who excells in character development like Jewel does... Pam Godwin is a close second, but Jewel reigns supreme. It had come to point in my reading, where I couldn't even give a high point of the last story I had read-- the stories had zero effect on me, and then I found the Transcend duet by Jewel E. Ann. She can tell you a story that will OWN YOU. Every feeling - first love, insecurity, jealousy, betrayal, protectiveness, fear, faith, anxiety, rage, and so many more - you will experience all of them in first person as you live the lives of these characters. This story will gut you emotionally. I felt like a teenager, ready to lash out & let the bodies hit the floor regardless of consequence - while experiencing life, for the first time, in all of its soul-stripping unfairness.
Listening to this while on a road trip, my daughter grabbed my attention with a very worried expression, asking if I was alright due to my red face and chest heaving, as if I was in a full blown panic attack or maybe a rage. I will feel this one for a good while to come. I hope you do too!

Wow! WTF, TERRIBLE HEA...

This series had me on edge, practically the whole time. I thought, how could this be rated below a 4.7 🌟, and then I reached the end. This seems to be a coming of age story with suspense, regret, betrayal, spice, tragedy & plenty of feels. Narration was great, although not in duet. Really, Andi probably could have narrated the entire audiobook. You have to listen to book one 1st to get the full effect of this story.

How could Ronin be so stupid 🙄? I was on his team in book 1. He was supposed to be a previous playboy, but yet he couldn't tell when women were playing him? He couldn't tell when Lyla, Vanessa, or Adrienne was trying to seduce him? Give me a break, he knew exactly what was happening. Regardless of his rationale, he used someone else to increase his desire for his wife...that sounds like cheating to me. I'm probably the underdog, but 😬 I liked Graham & Evelyn together ❤️, UNTIL the obvious became apparent. If only Graham wasn't a spoiled little rich-ruthless-heartless monster, who loved Evelyn because she wasn't a 'yes-man' - which made him want what he couldn't have that much more. If only he would change for the better. Ronin & Lyla were mischievous snakes & unforgivable liars. Adrienne summed Ro-Ro right up...he pretended to be good. Hmmm, 'Graham Cracker' might have given up his fortune and fame to be with Evie. By the end, I understood why people rated this story so low....FTS, Ronin got off way too easy, would've loved a different outcome. Evelyn was weak, it'll happen again, he needs a vice. He is too weak hearted & weak minded, yuk. F'd up HEA! Enjoy Jewel's writing, but this one was a little hard for me to stomach.

This series was so good, so different, and I loved every single minute of it. It had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. 10/10 would recommend.

Girl. Lol. Jewel used to be my favorite but she is proving to be a flop.

After two books, she tried to wrap up this story in the literal final hour. Spoiler, it didn’t work. So many loose strings and plot holes. I need to know who looped this lady into a 20 book deal bc she’s just churning out absolute crap for cash at this point.
