Traveling across Florida in a motorhome, Walker and his cat, Mango Bob, are enjoying a laid back lifestyle while trying to stay out of trouble. But trouble seems to find them wherever they go. Good book

The reader was boring , and miss pronounced words, not the best I guess it’s virtual read not my thing.

Narration is not the best

I picked up the first book, Mango Bob as an audio book since I do a lot of driving. The book was really good so picked up the next one. I liked that one as well, but then I bought the third book and instead of a real narrator, it uses an AI voice. Besides the occasional mispronounced word, there is a lack of emotional depth in the story that a real narrator brings. The story was good though so I bought the 4th book. Again AI narration. I think this kind of narration is good for philosophical books but not in the world of story telling. I am unsure if I will continue this series just because the lack of emotion in the narration just bothers me so.

Virtual narration

I listen to books on Audible while driving long distances all of the time. The Mango series is light hearted with a great Florida theme. However, the virtual narrator sucks. There is no infection in the voice nor are the characters distinguishable. The common idioms used in the American version of the English language are missing. For instance, when the main character went to get his gun, which was a 357, the virtual pronunciation was he got his three hundred and fifty seven. That was but one of many.

The books were great when read by the original actor. I’ve still got Mango Blue in my library but not overwhelmed by the idea of listening to it.

Narrator not human. Just awful.

Hated the narration. Too mechanical. Miss pronunciations. Jilted.
Now trying to reach the fifteen word minimum.

The AI reader was mono toned and I will not do another AI narrated book.

I listen to the three previous books in this series and enjoyed them. I suffered through the AI reader only because I like the story. Sadly I will not be finishing the series because of the AI narrator.
