On May 6, 1996, dozens of excited climbers set off to scale Mount Everest and reach the tallest point on Earth. On the morning of May 10, the skies were clear. The summit was in sight. But hours later, a terrible storm hit. Eight climbers died as they became trapped near the peak.

What went wrong, and how did the survivors manage to make it back alive? This Deadly Expeditions tale transports listeners back in time to discover how one of the deadliest days on Mount Everest unfolded.

The narration had silences throughout. There were background sounds of winds blowing but there were 3-4 seconds of silence between sentences. After each break, you expect a complete change of subject (at least I did) and it was very distracting.

I was disappointed there wasn’t more investigated information. Clearly not a lot of research went into this book. It’s filled with the same inaccuracies, contradictions and tall tales that have been repeated over the years. Much of the fiction from JK’s book “Into Thin Air.” There’s plenty of photographic evidence to prove that these people were NEVER waiting on ropes to be fixed. That is NOT what caused these climbers to fall behind schedule. I’m so sick of hearing everyone drone on about this nonsense, telling the same false narrative over and over. I hope one day someone will put effort into writing an accurate description of what happened that day. This wasn’t it.
