Lark Levitt doesn't belong at Roosevelt College, at least in theory. Most students who attend the university come from wealthy families, and Lark is only a scholarship and a bus ride away from the trailer park where he lives. Henry Albrecht survived childhood cancer and is now a Roosevelt quarterback and model student. His past is something his father insists Henry keep private, and it makes his remission feel like a dirty secret. He has few precious memories from that time in his life, except for a kid from the hospital who made his recovery manageable. A kid who's now at Roosevelt.

They decide to keep their distance. Easier said than done. Their renewed connection brings solace, clarity, and a raw intensity that awakens a spark between them. But hiding their history is exhausting, and soon enough their secret meetups are in danger of being exposed. Henry will need to face his fears—and his father—or lose the only person who's ever understood the real him.

Super sweet!

This was adorable!! Such a sweet listen and very well written! Can’t wait for the next in the series!

So sweet

I truly didn't expect to love this book as much as I did, while the spice was minimal the story and characters were fantastic. Javier Wilder made me so giddy as a narrator in this only because he took over the football player role from For the Fans! ugh I loved him in that and in this too.

This was cute

I enjoyed this story; it was a cute meet again later in life story (although not that long has gone by). One from the rich; one from the poor side of the tracks. Somewhat of opposites attract. Nice listen to.

Sweet Story

Sweet story of a kind of second chance romance, enough back story to feel connected to the characters. Not too smutty a good spice to story ratio.

Cute story, first time listening to this author

MM with a HEA. I love series that can be read as stand-alone, and this is one. This story is sweet, has an openly gay friend and a friend with a gay awakening. The friendship is sincere, the struggles are real. I liked this author and will certainly listen to other books by her. Narration was good.
