Horrible accent but I love this book

Ok. Let me first say I absolutely LOVE this book. I’ve read the kindle version several times. I was waiting on the audio… but ooooof man that French Canadian accent is baaaad. First it kind of fades in and out, but the worst part is that he uses a Parisian French accent which is really different from the French around Quebec. Maybe it’s me because my family comes from there and I’ve been there several times, but it’s nowhere near what it actually is. I even worked for a guy from Paris and I always cringed at his snooty accent. Unfortunately it took a lot away from the book because it’s so distracting. I wish narrators would just leave the accent out if it’s not right. Reminds me of books I’ve heard trying to do Boston accents where they sound like they’re from the Bronx. If it’s not right, I wish it wasn’t there at all. I still love ALL of Lulu’s books but this one was hard to listen to. :(

the toughest audible for me to get through based on the accents only. story was good but it was tough

Narrator accents were terrible.

I’m a big fan of Lulu Moore and really enjoyed the story itself, but I was extremely put off by the narrators’s poor attempts at a Canadian French and British accents. I tried multiple times to stick with it, but ultimately I couldn’t finish the book. Unfortunately, this was one of the weakest narrations I’ve experienced on Audible, which is disappointing given how much I liked the book.
