Deja Hawkins lives her life from paycheck to paycheck with a no-good man at the house while she works to pay the bills. She gets fed up with her boyfriend Kyren and tells him to get out while she’s at work. An unexpected guest in one of the rooms she cleans steps in with an offer of help to Deja in more ways than one.

Amir Shaw has been groomed to take over the family’s business empire since he learned to walk and talk. He is caught off guard when his mother reveals a clause he’d never heard of that requires him to be married before taking over. Amir takes his time to find a wife as a form of rebellion. He turns down all the women his mother puts before him. He returns home from a meeting with one of his mother’s wife options when he meets a teary-eyed stranger who makes his world stop.

Deja’s looking for a break from her stressful life. Amir’s looking for a wife he can stand to be around for more than an hour. Take a ride with this couple as an agreement is made that will help them both. It will also cause some family secrets, betrayals, and lies to be revealed.

Unhinged & hilarious

I learned of this book through a review on TikTok & let me tell you. It did NOT fail. Even though I dislike virtual narration, this one was tolerable. Amir does not play about his!!!! Anybody can get it 😂😂

Lit 🔥 sexy, entertaining and too funny, worth a listen!

Amir Shaw is bae. Storyline is very entertaining, funny with lots of drama and lots of hot sex between Amir & Deja. Characters had me cackeling the whole way through. Even funnier with the virtual male and female voices. This is worth the listen.

It’s a no for me

I’ve listened to virtual voice narrated books before and as far as that goes the voices were ok. But the storyline was more problematic. It was a struggle to get through this one even with it being a free read. I finished it to be able to give a fully informed unbiased review. But otherwise it would have been a hard dnf. That being said nothing was plausible. From the giddy up everything was so unrealistic and far fetched it was hard to ignore. You know with fiction it’s made up fantasy that can take you on a journey but I still desire for things to maintain a certain level of reality with a sprinkle of possibility. This was not that. So many times I checked the time to see how much was left but I was really hopeful it would come together. It did not.
