Nothing ever happens in small towns…

When Shelby Dawson survives a harrowing attack that should have left her dead, she tries to move past it—for herself, and for her family. Fifteen months later, with the help of her best friend, Mackenzie, she finally feels safe again in the snowy Minnesota town she calls home. But when an anonymous note appears on her windshield bearing the same threats her attacker made, Shelby realizes that her nightmare has only just begun.

As new evidence surfaces, and a group of well-meaning senior citizens accidentally makes the case go viral online, the situation quickly goes from bad to worse. And with suspicious accidents targeting those closest to her happening all over town, Shelby can’t shake the feeling that she’s being watched. Fighting to stay one step ahead of disaster, she finds herself asking the question on everyone’s lips: Who attacked her that night?

But Shelby isn’t the only one with questions. Mackenzie’s husband, Leo, vanished without a trace on that terrible night, and over a year later, no one knows why. Until a deep dive into his finances reveals a history of debts, mismanaged funds, and hidden accounts—one of which is still active. Their suspicion that Leo is still alive only complicates things further, though, and when another person connected to Shelby goes missing, she’s caught in a race against time before her attacker becomes a killer.

This story started out great I was super excited and then it just lost the plot. A transition into the nursing home and the older characters didn’t make a lot of sense and the characters didn’t have a lot of personality until the end of the book where it got better again,

I love this author but

I'm becoming quite a fan of Seraphina Nova Glass. Every book I've read by her this far has been great, and this one was no different. Her writing style makes me want to read more, and the storyline in her books captivates from beginning to end.

Shelby is lucky to have survived being forced and locked into a walk-in freezer, but her survival almost makes her wish she hadn't once the letter arrives, then incident after incident while the local police and citizens stay to believe she's making it all up. Thankfully, the residents she houses at the senior living home believe her, and they're just as hopeful as Shelby is to find out who's threatening her and her family.

Mack's husband is missing with no clue as to where he's gone off to. He has a bit of a gambling problem and may have bitten off more than he can chew. He's been believed to be dead, but after Mack stumbles upons documents revealing secret accounts, one of which is active, and the latest phone bill showing his missing phone has been active for almost two weeks, she's ready to track him down.

Nothing ever happens in Minnesota until it does, and it was enjoyable to read all about it.

Funny, suspenseful, and even-paced! Great book!

I loved this book so much, the story was a good mystery, but what really sold it were the narrators and cast of characters that were charming, and relatable. I loved the senior"gang" and would really love another book with Florence and the "gang" solving crime in their town.
I highly recommend this book.

great story and even better characters

Since discovering this author, I’ve listened to all of her books and set a reminder for when this, her latest would drop.
It did not disappoint! I love how you are not able to predict where the plot is headed. Well written!
