Great story of survival amid chaos

As always, Chris and Jeffrey team up for an exciting thriller set on a new world. An excellent addition to an already fantastic series!

A great book as a stand alone title...

The Forsaken was a great book and completely stand-alone. I see a potential future for the series but being 21 books in and all of them tying into one another minus this one was a bit disappointing. Still, Nuttal and Kafer deliver on what is a great title and performance.

This series seems to be losing its focus

First of all, let me say that I am a huge fan of Christopher, I think I’ve read now something like 40 or 50 of his books between the various series. The reason I’m reading this one less than I would like to is it seems to have gone away from the storylines, which is that of the Marines. Yes, we have a couple in here but what about Avalon? Heck, what about the trade Federation? There’s been a lot of very promising little offshoots that have not gone anywhere. I know authors write what they feel and what they know and I can say the only thing of his that I have not dove into were the various magic books because they just seemed like they were written for younger audience, but this has been one of the very best series and it just feels like it’s gotten lost. The characters we grew to know in love have wander off. We’re not even sure what they’re doing anymore. Many of them were kind of left at way points where you thought OK, well that would be what would be next. I didn’t feel any particular connection to these characters. Honestly couldn’t have cared if they lived or died because. It seemed like just about everybody was kind of crappy. I don’t know. It truly hurts me to not be able to write and say this is the most amazing book I’ve ever read and out of about 1000 audible books at this point I’ve only taken the time to write a couple of reviews. Now the other series he’s started to write, which is currently in the second book that’s pretty amazing.

Great Audio Book

This is a great series and the Audio presentation is top notch. Great story line and another character in the series.
