My parents both left this planet covered in glitter. Death came for each of them right in the middle of what they were working on. As I held and kissed them for the last time, patches of glitter transferred to my hands and face like tiny passed torches. For as much as the grief burned, there was no getting around it—the light that had been on them was now on me.

In the grand scope of things, glitter may not seem like much. But in a way, it’s everything: a responsibility to infinity, to reflect the spark at the heart of it all.

—Robin Brown

The first book to quilt the spirit of a wildly successful international clothing brand among the scraps of childhood trauma, Glitter Saints is the story of Robin Brown, creator of Magnolia Pearl. It’s a mining of tragedy for the kind of magic that creates and sustains—a sharp-eyed, soft-hearted, stubborn hope that’s the rarest raw material.

I purchased the hard copy of this book and them found the audible version. I could not stop listening to her story. As a consumer I have purchased many of her clothes. What I loved the most was how each piece she creates has a story from her life. Her commitment to making each item unique. Her resilience to rising above her circumstances is truly remarkable. I cannot recommend this book enough. Thank you for sharing your story!

I fell in love with her whimsical designs and became an avid collector. I now understand every detail, stitch, and hidden treasure of her creative artwork that I call my fashion style. What an incredible gift to understand her story, the other side of love, the alchemy of brokenness, and see a phoenix from the ashes.

Bravo!

I finally get Magnolia Pearl!

Disturbing but beautiful story

Amazing, horrific, real and relatable all at the same time, covered entirely in glitter of course!

Unfinished beauty

Astounding! First a fan of Magnolia Pearl but now a devotee. I can’t imagine the lack of safety, security & cruelty Robin lived through. This booked rocked my world. Robin is an incredible example of overcoming & letting her light shine no matter what, to bring her gift to the world. She is an example for me for no excuses. Love is the thread that weaves this story together. Now I’ll wear my MP with a sense of a warrior with endless possibilities and hope. Her desire to deepen her relationship with her mother was admirable as was the devotion to her father. She suffered far more than I but presents to us a beautiful path of healing through her storytelling. Bravo.
