Basic Storylines, Awful Narration

I question if the books weren't AI generated. The were repetitions of phrases, basic story lines just rewritten with new characters and slight changes and lacked much of elements employed by best-selling mystery writers. If you like the light mindless mysteries that lack substance, these are for you. No judgement, just I prefer a more well rounded plot. Each book assumes you've never read the others in the series, constantly recounting details previously written. It's good if you are picking one starting anywhere in the series, but redundant in this completed series.

I am so not a fan of virtual voice, but due to the inexpensive price bought the audio book anyways hoping it wouldn't be awful. Unfortunately, the typical issues with VV plus more were evident. When words were missing, mispronounced, or wrong variations sometimes it was due to poor writing and editing, poor choice of pronouncation/word choice by AI, especially words spelled the same but have different means depending on how it is said, but also I noticed AI often would drop letters. Leads, which often occurs in mystery books, was switched back and forth between leads as in clues and leads as in the metals but frequently the plural was dropped to singular despite it being written correctly in the book. I literally would pause the audio and got the the ebook to see what exactly was written.

It reminds me of the internet soap operas

I did not enjoy the story line. It may get better after a while. It just wasn't for me.

Good character development

Having the stories read by AI ruined it for me. Inflection wrong and mispronounced words made me lose focus.

Hope and Joe work together to save crimes

I loved how Hope and Joe team up to solve crimes together and how they got along when in the midst of a murder
