Enderwhelming but the series still has potential

Over an hour on stats. it felt like it took half the book to get good and ended at an awkward spot.

great setting book too short

Good story and narration, but the book felt abbridged. There are sudden jumps in time that feel like something was there but was cut on the editing floor. i dont mind an hours worth of stats but when they take up more than 10% of the book you feel a little cheated. could have used about 3 more hours of actual content to be worth the credit. Having said all that the setting the author has created is fantastic and the characters feel alive and interesting. Please for the next book take the time to deliver a finished product. im pretty sure it will be worth it.

Maybe not my favorite, but it is good!

I'm really not sure what's goin' on but I just was as engaged by the book as I suspected I'd be. 'Cause bk 1 was one my favorite books in 2023 and it's deck building litRPG which are always fun. I think that this is a book that would have benefited by a reread (something I never do) or at least a recap. The book is still good and I'm definitely curious about what's gonna happen next 🤔.
And yes Jeff Hays and Soundbooth Theater Production's is always a plus.

Great addition to the story

I have two complaints. One, this one was way shorter than I wanted it to be. And two, now I have to wait forever until the next one comes out.

Spoiler below:

I will say that the relationship with Cas seemed to come out of no where. I don’t mind it I just hope that they build it up better. It kinda felt like “ oh and now they like each other”

My bias may be showing.

I think this was a great sequel. I don't imagine many who liked the first won't like this one. The ending leaves you waiting for the ending but I think it was to make us want more.

a fantastic sequel

This series is one of my favorites I have listened to in the last year. The narration is fantastic. the only small complaint I have is that the book is a bit short. Still I highly recommend it.

Great story really awkward stopping point

I think the goal was to stop on a cliff hanger which never feels satisfying but it really just stops as the story builds depth. One or two more chapters would really have helped set up what we expect next instead of dropping a bomb (that is strongly foreshadowed) and then literally as it explodes the screen goes dark knowing the next part is still the bomb exploding. Truthfully recommended waiting till the next book to start. Also this is only a 7:30 hour book 2 hours of card descriptions you will want to look up and read and skip.
