If we were to delve into the papacy of any one of these Apostles of Peter, we would get but a small glimpse of what they had to deal with in their pontificate. Each one was specially chosen to do what the Lord needed them to do at a given time in the history of our Church. The evil one has been trying to destroy the Church from the very beginning, even till today and maybe especially today. All our Popes have had to try to defend and save the Church of their time. So do not get the idea that we have chosen the Popes we have written about in this book because they were better than any of the other Popes in the History of Our Church.
