The Head of the Linwick Family has sent assassins after Noah — and he doesn’t even realize it.

After killing Evergreen, the only thing he wants to do is enjoy vacation and then spend some much-needed time training up his students. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like he’s going to be able to get what he wants quite so easily.

Jalen, the head of the Linwick Family, hasn’t cared for the activities of the lesser in a family for a long time — but Noah has caught his eye, and now he’s determined to figure out exactly what he’s capable of.

He’s not the only one that’s on Noah’s tail. Renewal and Decras’ minions are hot on Noah’s tail, and they’re closer than ever before. Everyone is determined to try and figure out exactly who Noah is…

But if any of them do, he may never see the light of day again.

One of my favorite series currently, and this book doesn’t disappoint. I need book five ASAP lol.

Garina is described as a tall, incredibly pale woman with black/red lips, completely black eyes, wearing a spiked collar. And the chosen accent for this character is a mix of Texas/Southern comfort.

I understand the man is a professional but this is as jarring as penwings was from Benedict in that nature documentary. I know that it is difficult to makeup enough accents for everyone but just like hearing Warhammer 40k orcs almost universally protrayed as tea-starved cockney football fans, it's odd that the south is canonically where the audiobook version of one of the more terrifying creatures comes from in this fantasy universe.

Beyond that nitpick, it was great.

Texas is (not) part of the Arbalest Empire
