They called it: ‘The Craze.’

No one saw it coming. It started with isolated reports of people kidnapping babies and blending them to drink their ‘essence’—a highly potent and highly addictive chemical compound found in infants. The phenomenon spread through social media, infecting other addicts. Cases of kidnapping and murder—femicide and infanticide—skyrocketed, leading to governments around the world to issue state of emergencies and strict shelter-at-home orders.

But it was too late.

Society had collapsed into itself.

Now, Brian Turner finds himself trapped in a police station with his family—his wife Leslie, his five-year-old son Cameron, and his newborn daughter Harper—and a group of shellshocked survivors. With their supplies running low and a horde of baby-fiends waiting to strike outside, he must find a way to protect his family and search for a new home away from the carnage and madness.

Jon Athan, the author of The Groomer and Lovesick, presents a disturbing post-apocalyptic vision unlike anything he’s written before. Can you survive the Craze?

Blender Babies is the kind of story that makes you look at your NutriBullet and think, ‘Maybe I should switch to smoothies.’ Jon Athan serves up an unholy cocktail of desperation, depravity, and dark humor that’s equal parts horrifying and perversely fascinating. The Craze isn’t just a plot device—it’s a testament to how low humanity can go when thirsting for the ultimate drinkable essence. Not for the faint of heart, but if your heart’s already blackened, this one’s for you.

Truly a blender of genres: horror, shock, and absolute societal collapse

It was truly disgusting. Love it and looking forward to other books by the author.

Gross and Great

The actor does great voices, really brings you in, amazing story and written beautifully. BUT there is a few times where he kinda messes up really easy words and it does throw you off. There is also a actor change like halfway through and it’s very noticeable but it’s only for a chapter. Overall!!! High 4.5/5

Beautiful story, but the actor!

This post apocalyptic extreme horror novel explores conspiracies surrounding adrenochrome while pulling the reader into some of the darkest corners of humanity. Jon Athan has a rare ability to confront the most depraved aspects of human nature with unflinching detail, and that is what makes his work stand out.

“There’s no honor among thieves or cannibals.”

the story is really good and engrossing. the narration is is great, but my only qualm is the mispronunciation of certain words. the narrator is a very talented storyteller, but needs to work on his pronunciation skills. if you aren't sure about how to correctly say a word, you can always Google the pronunciation. overall, I highly reccomend this book.

good splatterpunk story
