Fantastic series opener

This is an atmospheric whodunit with a bunch of quirky inclusive characters, including a dog who is the town’s mayor. Surprise ending leading into book two. Great listening for car or home, enjoy!

Just No!

I couldn't connect with any of the characters. The plot was all over the place. about half way thru I just jumping to the end to quiet my annoyance.

Unbelievable

The so-called quirky residents were bizarre cartoon characters rather than relatable personalities. Michael, while being a successful architect and contractor, also worked as a bodyguard? The town constable with no other trained officers, had a "Police Station" with multiple cells where prisoners were left alone 16 hours a day with no food?

Visitor Olivia is suspected of killing a childhood friend in spite of not being in the area when the death happened? A local resident admitted to drugging Olivia without any consequences. The obvious and silly situations were so distracting I don't even remember who the committed the murder. The dog was the only engaging and memorable character.
