The pulse-pounding, psychological thriller, from the international top ten bestselling author of The Sleepover and The Summer House

How well do you really know your husband?

Two years ago, my whole world was ripped apart when my husband and best friend were killed in a car accident in Norfolk. Since then, I've struggled to come to terms with my overwhelming grief and to understand why they were together in Charlie’s car that fateful day.

I know I can’t carry on with my reclusive lifestyle, hiding away, alone in this big house. I have to find a way to start living again.

Following a friend’s advice, I sign up to a reputable dating site, IntoYou. She tells me it’s the perfect way to meet someone, and when I quickly get a match, I believe she is right. I am surprised how easy this is.

But it seems I have a lot to learn. Anyone can hide behind a computer screen, using the sinister mask of anonymity. It seems by exposing myself I've attracted the wrong kind of attention.

Strange things start to happen in my life and shocking secrets come to light. Evil is watching me and it is connected to my past.
Will I see the danger before it’s too late?

The thrilling listen for fans of Freida McFadden, Claire McGowan and Lisa Jewell.

I couldn’t stop listening to this story, the writing was very engaging, and I was able to put myself into the main character. I really enjoyed the professional way the narrator told the story, it was so easy to follow. It definitely was worth listening to.

I rate books on how they kept my interest. I listen to audiobooks only when I drive so that’s roughly about 2 hours a day. If a book is really good then I’ll think about it even when I’m not listening and this one kept me thinking. I have always been leery about meeting people on dating sites and now I’m staying away from them. I found it interesting that the author made you feel one way about the “male stranger” and just when you think it is a fatal attraction, the book shifts. The one thing to criticize is the same thing I see in so many books like this is the main character jumping to conclusions when they see something that bothers them. Instead of sitting down and talking to the love interest about what they saw they just make their mind up to walk away. Other than that I loved this listen and look forward to what Kerri Beavis comes out with next.

Another Great One

Keri Beevis is so good at writing books that will keep you wanting more! Storylines are always great and not predictable like some other authors.

Great suspense!

The book started out as intriguing, the premise was unusual and interesting. But it became very disturbing and graphic in the torture descriptions. I wish I had not finished it as it’s likely to give me nightmares. Also didn’t care for the main character as she made some questionable choices, and the narrator’s voice was always on the brink of hysteria, which became quite annoying. I would give this book fast pass.

Why did I finish….?

Started off with interesting storyline and some intrigue. The narrator always having Parker speak in a constant state of panic and high anxiety made listening difficult for me. Also, toward the end, such detailed descriptions of the psychopath’s tortuous plans for the victims was not my taste in thriller novels. This was my first audiobook by Ms Beevis, so will give her another chance.

Narration of Parker and the psychopath was annoying
