    In Rugby League NRL: Jason Ryles has been appointed the Parramatta Eels next Head Coach on a four-year deal following the conclusion of the 2024 season.

    In Football: The Uruguay-USA game in the group stage of Copa América, drew 3.8 million viewers, the best audience on record for any Copa América game on English-language TV in the USA.

    Copa América is averaging 1.1 million viewers per game across Fox, FS1 and FS2 to date. That is expected to lift for the semifinals Argentina vs Canada and Colombia vs Uruguay.

    Fox Sports is also seeing a 31% uptick for the UEFA EURO2024, ahead of the semifinals where Spain tackles France and England takes on the Netherlands.

    At Wimbledon: Novak Djokovic may have looked vulnerable in a rocky first week at the All England Club, after undergoing knee surgery on a torn meniscus in his right knee.

    In the Paris Olympic Games: "Only three athletes are representing Afghanistan," said Atal Mashwani, the spokesman of the Taliban government's sports directorate. "Currently, in Afghanistan girls' sports have been stopped," he told Agence France-Presse.

    Afghanistan's Taliban government does not recognise the three female athletes who will represent the country at the Paris Olympic Games this month.

    The International Olympic Committee has invited a squad of six Afghan athletes - three women and three men, in consultation with Afghanistan's largely exiled national Olympic committee.
