  • Kia ora, Talofa, Ma’lelei, Bula, Aloha and Welcome to Season 10 Episode 09 of Breakfast Bites, by TEIVOVOdigital.com – a wrap of Pasifika people’s sports news, on Wednesday morning 10 July 2024 where it is mostly cloudy and a cool 22 degrees Celsius at 5am.

Coming to you with tons of hanisi from the 180th meridian, in the middle of the blue continent.

In Rugby Union: Due to heavy rainfall in Cape Town on Tuesday 9 July, the pitch at Athlone Stadium was declared not safe to play.

And the RWC U20 Ireland vs Australia was cancelled and both teams were awarded two competition points.

Since then, the pitch has sufficiently drained to allow rugby to resume in safe conditions.
So France vs Wales and South Africa vs England will go ahead as scheduled.

In Rugby League: It’s official! A festival of Rugby League returns to Allegiant Stadium, Las Vegas in 2025. Bigger, Bolder and Better.

Be there for all the action live in the sports and entertainment capital of the world on Saturday 01 March next year, via a direct charter flight and special travel packages on-sale now via “Trip A Deal”.

    And the games are:
    · Canberra Raiders vs New Zealand Warriors
    · Penrith Panthers vs Cronulla Sutherland-Sharks
    · Wigan Warriors vs Warrington Wolves from Super League
    · Australian Jillaroos vs England Women

    In Football: In the first EURO2024 semifinal in Germany this morning;

Spain 2-1 France so Kylian Mbappe and Les Bleu have fallen!

Our World Famous tip for the second semifinal tomorrow: England to fishnchips the Netherlands.

And in the Copa América 2024 semis in the US: Argentina to scorch Canada and Colombia to undercook Uruguay.

At Wimbledon: Top-seed Jannik Sinner was treated by a trainer and left the court for more treatment, before losing to Daniil Medvedev 6-7, 6-4, 7-6, 2-6, 6-3 in the Wimbledon Men’s quarterfinals yesterday.

The fifth-seed Medvedev will take on defending champion Carlos Alcaraz in the semifinals for the second consecutive year.

Alcaraz, the No. 3 seed, took a bit of time to get going in his quarterfinal, but once he did, there was no stopping the Spanish teen star in a 5-7, 6-4, 6-2, 6-2 win over No. 12 seed American, Tommy Paul.

In the NBA: Watch out for the next big thing – 17 year-old Cooper Flagg stole the show in a scrimmage against future NBA Hall of Famers in Team USA preparing for the Paris Olympic Games.

Flagg is expected to be Numero Uno in the NBA Draft 2025.

In Combat Sports: Following the cancelation of their UFC303 main event fight on 29 June, a new date could be on the horizon for Conor McGregor versus Michael Chandler - and it may well be sooner than anticipated.

Chandler has taken to social media to tease that a rescheduled fight against the mad Irishman could take place at the Las Vegas Sphere - UFC event on 14 September.

And in the Paris Olympic Games: The 100M Women’s sprint World Champion – USA Track & Field star, Sha'Carri Richardson is glowing in gold for Vogue's August 2024 digital cover - photographed by Luis Alberto Rodriguez wearing a bright Ralph Lauren Collection bodysuit and skirt in the starting position on a track, with gold Nike sneakers and her signature long, decorated nails.

Richardson had to sit out the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics after she tested positive for THC, a chemical found in marijuana.

She opened up in an accompanying interview about her preparation, "Most people, only think of track every four years. The Olympics, that's all there is - those few seconds on TV. But for me, track is my life on a day-to-day basis. Everything I do - what I eat, what I drink, if I stay up too late - it's all reflected on the track. Every choice. That's what the world doesn't see."

    You go girl!

    That’s a wrap peeps!
