Last night, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump made his first public appearance since the assassination attempt against him in Butler, Pennsylvania. 3:10pm- Bob Menendez Convicted: Nicholas Fandos, Tracey Tully, and Benjamin Weiser of The New York Times write: “Senator Robert Menendez of New Jersey was convicted on all counts in a sweeping scheme to sell his office to foreign powers and crooked businessmen in exchange for hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash, a luxury car and bars of solid gold. A jury of 12 New Yorkers convicted him of all 16 counts he faced, on charges including honest services wire fraud, bribery and extortion. Vance described what it was like learning he would be Donald Trump’s selection for Vice President—Trump even talked to Vance’s young son over the phone! During the conversation, Vance explained how he went from someone skeptical of Trump in 2016 to becoming his running mate. He originally “bought into the media’s lies and distortions” but changed his mind about Trump when he saw the effectiveness of Trump’s policies. 3:30pm- On Monday, CNN’s Chris Wallace called Donald Trump’s arrival at the RNC Convention one of the most electric moments he can ever recall at a nominating convention. It was the former president’s first public appearance since he was nearly assassinated in Butler, PA. 3:35pm- Speaking at the RNC Convention on Monday, Sean O’Brien—President of the International Brotherhood of Teamster—said that “in light of what happened” to Donald Trump over the weekend “he has proven to be one tough SOB.” 3:40pm-While speaking with ABC News Correspondent Pierre Thomas, Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle said the “buck stops with me”—but that she will not be stepping down despite the failures of her agency during Saturday’s Trump campaign rally in Butler, PA. 4:00pm- Dean Cain & David AR White—stars of the new film “God’s Not Dead: In God We Trust”—join The Rich Zeoli Show from the Republican National Committee Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Cain—famous for playing Superman in the 1990s—reveals he’s afraid of flying. Wait. Superman is afraid to fly!?!? The film is in theaters on September 12th. 4:20pm- On Monday, model and media personality Amber Rose spoke at the RNC Convention declaring “the media has lied to us about Donald Trump.” CNN’s Van Jones warned that Rose’s speech could be “dangerous” to the Biden campaign as her comments will reach younger Americans who may otherwise not engage in politics. 4:30pm- Elon Musk vs Gavin Newsom: Molly Bohannon of Forbes writes: “SpaceX founder Elon Musk said Tuesday the aerospace company, along with X, formerly known as Twitter, will move their headquarters from California to Texas after California Gov. Why was the Secret Service slow to react despite warnings from numerous people in the area? In a CBS News report, current Director of the Secret Service Kimberly Cheatle described her mission to prioritize diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in the agency’s hiring practices. 5:00pm- Tulsi Gabbard—Former Presidential Candidate & U.S. Congresswoman from Hawaii—joins The Rich Zeoli Show.
