the narrator captured the characters really well..

I'm very glad the audiobook is a thing because now it can introduce people into the baccano! Light Novels whom might have troubles reading..or ofc fans waiting for another season or anime..

but this has proven to be a good stand in and a great piece of baccano! media that I highly suggest for fans of the series or newcomers to check out..


I really loved the narrator's portrayal of Ladd Russo..he did a stellar job and is imo on par with the English dub performance from Bryan Massey's Ladd Russo..

I think Czeslaw Meyer's mental voice as an adult made sense especially with this version of czeslaw whom before this arc was ruthless..until the wacky couple Issac and Miria who also are great as always and affect characters such as czeslaw to hear
overall I can't wait for more baccano! volumes to get audiobooks!!

Characterization Disappointment Almost Redeemed

I enjoy this series. My only issue with this audiobook is the narrator's delivery for my favorite character Czeslaw Meyer. He was depicted as having an adult inner voice and affecting a child's voice when necessary. The anime conveyed this more effectively in that Czes has only one voice. Because he was immortalized at age 10, that voice is a child's voice, It's the attitude that shifts, and that shift can be all the more sinister when articulated in a child's voice. I will grant that the presented juxtaposition, whether the narrator's choice or the director's, was used effectively at the end for Czes' confrontation become reunion with Maiza, as the little boy voice takes over.

Voice work is so good

I've loved baccano for a long while, starting with finding the anime at some point when i was 15, and then reading many of the light novels (I've fallen behind as it's still an ongoing series), so i was incredibly excited when i heard baccano was getting an audiobook adaptation.

Michael Butler Murray hasn't disappointed at all within these last three entries, his voice work and accents are very good. Some of my favorite characters get introduced within volume 2 and 3, so i waited till now to make a decision on how I feel about the adaptation. Now, hearing those characters given voice once again, I couldn't be more excited.
