are right there to help her pick up the pieces. When Million shows up in her life, he prides himself in showing her how a real man is supposed to move.

Hurtful yet Hopeful

Boo’d Up with a Hood Legend is a heartwarming romance that celebrates love, family and healthy relationships. One of the things I appreciated most about this novel was its portrayal of Black men loving and treating Black women with respect, care and intention. That kind of representation is refreshing to read and adds a level of authenticity and warmth that makes the story even more enjoyable.

Beyond the romance, the relationships between the cousins Remy, Kee Kee and Jania were one of my favorite parts of the book. Their bond felt genuine, supportive and full of love. They showed up for one another through life’s highs and lows, reminding readers of the strength and comfort that can be found in family.

S. Yvonne creates characters that are easy to root for and the story flows in a way that keeps readers invested from beginning to end. The balance of romance, humor and family dynamics makes for an engaging and uplifting read.

Overall, Boo’d Up with a Hood Legend is a refreshing love story that highlights healthy Black love and strong family connections. I thoroughly enjoyed it and am excited to continue reading the rest of the series.
