Not as strong FMC…

I came from the Bonding Trials Series, which I loved! This story Kept, is the first in the series and a Reverse Harem, and a retelling of Rapunzel. I will say I started this story and then must have forgotten about it because I saw the second book, Glass, on TikTok, looked it up on Audible. I then realized I never finished Kept so finished it. I sped it up, if that tells you anything. I feel like the FMC was so weak. Maybe she should have been because of her trauma, idk, maybe I’m being judgy! She kinda annoyed me.

But I do want to listen to the second book but I’m pretty sure they are standalones so…

The narrators did a great job.

The only thing that bothered me was the FMC acted very young at times and I know her ignorance is a big part of the book, but at times it seemed a little much with her acting so young but having sexy time with 3 grown men.
Also you don’t read too many books that have both cuteness and darkness in them, this one did.

rapunzel retelling with spice

the characters were very developed, you fall in love with each of them. loved the parallels to rapunzel. the MMCs each have a past, and the FMC walks them through it. Great plot! and the spice.... chefs kiss. not too much either

Loved it!

Evelyn Flood is a new to me author. I typically do not enjoy fairy tale retellings, but this opened my mind to a new genre. The spice did not really show until the mid-point, but it was so worth the wait. The narration was on point as well and truly brought each character to life. Looking forward to more from this author.
