Besides imparting excellent communication skills, OATS UNCUT (Orator Academy Talks-Uncut!) is also an avenue for our students to engage in off-the-cuff, candid conversations. This exercise is for fun, and also for developing their young personalities into unstoppable, articulate, and confident adults.

Ava and Saanvi are best friends who serendipitously became neighbors. Being of the same age, grade, and interests, made it easy for their parents to schedule extracurriculars together for convenience. That’s how they ended up coming to me for coaching—together! Though they are very different, they are alike in many ways, almost like sisters from different mothers.

We sat down without a plan, and I’ve always found much wisdom and profound insights in candid conversations with children. Our discussion soon drifted to teen social issues, the influence and often adverse impact of social media, the pressure of living up to expectations, and much more.
